Scrypt Wallet is a free Litecoin wallet for Android and the web. Use it to send and receive LTC, check your balance, turn on Privacy Mode, and keep Litecoin next to your other coins.
Get started in three steps
1. Create a free account. No card is needed. You can add more than one LTC wallet to the same account later.
2. Open Receive. Choose LTC to see your address, then copy it or scan the QR code.
3. Send LTC to that address. Withdraw from an exchange or another wallet. Litecoin blocks arrive about every two and a half minutes, and you can follow the transfer on Litecoin Space.
What you can do with LTC in Scrypt Wallet
- Send and receive LTC, with the network fee shown before you confirm
- Turn on Privacy Mode, which uses Litecoin's MWEB extension blocks (how MWEB works)
- Hold more than one LTC wallet in the same account
- Swap LTC for other coins through the in-app swap providers where they are available
- Check live prices and charts on Scrypt Price
- Estimate mining income with the Litecoin mining calculator
- Claim a Scrypt ID and link your Litecoin address to it, so people can pay a name instead of a long address
Litecoin address formats
Regular Litecoin addresses start with L, M or ltc1. MWEB addresses are longer and start with ltcmweb1. Both are Litecoin, but the two kinds are used in different ways, so check which one a service gives you before you send. Not every exchange accepts deposits to an MWEB address.
About Litecoin
Litecoin is a proof-of-work coin that uses the Scrypt algorithm. A block arrives about every 2.5 minutes, the supply is capped at 84 million LTC, and the block reward halves every 840,000 blocks. The most recent halving was on 2 August 2023. See Litecoin halving dates for the schedule.
Litecoin is also the parent chain for Scrypt merge mining: the same Scrypt hashes can earn Litecoin and Dogecoin, plus other merge-mined coins. If you mine, estimate your income per miner and see Scrypt mining explained and the Scrypt hub.
Receiving and sending LTC
Open Receive, choose LTC and copy the address. Deposits need a few confirmations before they are final, so treat an unconfirmed deposit as pending. To send, enter the recipient address and an amount, then confirm. Check the first and last characters of the address first, because a confirmed transaction can't be reversed.
Security and recovery
Keep your recovery information somewhere durable and offline. Support will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key, and anyone who does is trying to steal from you. Make sure you are on wallet.scryptwallet.io before you enter anything. A confirmed LTC transaction can't be reversed, and Scrypt Wallet can't recover coins sent to the wrong address. Read crypto backups and wallet recovery before you put real money in.
