Litecoin halving
When the next Litecoin halving happens, what the block reward is now, and what has happened at past halvings. Block height is read live from Scrypt's own node.
The estimate assumes blocks keep arriving at the target of 2.5 minutes; if hashrate changes, the real date moves. Current block: 3,187,044.

Prices come from Scrypt Price's history and appear only where it covers the date. Past price moves after halvings are not a forecast: many other factors drive price.
How the LTC halving works
Litecoin's consensus code starts the block reward at 50 LTC and halves it every 840,000 blocks, about every four years. Because the reward keeps shrinking, the total supply converges on 84,000,000 LTC, and once the reward is small, miners depend more on transaction fees. The rule is enforced by every full node, so it cannot be changed by one company. See block rewards and halvings and Litecoin tokenomics.
Halving FAQ
When is the next Litecoin halving?
The next LTC halving happens at block 3,360,000. The chain is at block 3,187,044, so 172,956 blocks remain. At the target block time that is about 300 days, around 2027-07-27; the real date shifts with actual block times.
What is the current LTC block reward?
6.25 LTC per block, falling to 3.125 at the next halving.
What is a halving?
A rule in the protocol that cuts the block reward in half every 840,000 blocks, slowing new issuance so the total approaches its cap.
