Every Solana transaction has a unique signature, often called a txid. If you sent or expect SOL, you can look the signature up on a block explorer to see whether it went through. This takes about a minute.
Where to find the signature
In Scrypt Wallet, open your SOL activity and choose the transaction. Copy the signature, which is a long string of letters and numbers. If you sent SOL from an exchange, the exchange's withdrawal history shows the same signature as the transaction ID or hash.
Look it up on Solscan
Open Solscan, paste the signature into the search bar and open the result. You will see:
- Status: Finalized means the network has confirmed it and it can't be reversed. Failed means it did not go through, and the SOL was not moved, though a small fee may still be charged.
- Fee: Normally about 0.000005 SOL for a simple transfer.
- From and To: Check the recipient address matches the one you meant.
- Amount and time: The SOL moved and when the block was produced.
If you can't find it
- Wait a minute. Solana is fast, but explorers can lag behind the network.
- Check the signature for a missing character. Copying only part of it returns no result.
- Make sure you are searching the Solana mainnet, not a test network.
- If you pasted a wallet address instead of a signature, Solscan shows the whole address history, where you can find the transfer.
If the SOL has not arrived
If the status is finalized and the recipient address is yours, the funds are in your wallet. If the address is not yours, the transfer went to someone else and cannot be undone, so always check the address before you confirm. For how fees and priority fees work, see Solana transaction fees.
